biography

Hey. I’m Mordechai. That’s my face there. I’m a staff writer for Quanta Magazine, where I write about the latest research in computer science and artificial intelligence. In addition to Quanta, my writing has appeared at outlets like New Scientist, Vice, Symmetry, Physics, Inverse, and Astronomy.

Before becoming a journalist, I earned an M.S. in physics from the University of Wisconsin and a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Texas. That included a semester of study abroad at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel. Before college, I graduated from the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS), a residential high school program at the University of North Texas.
